A Line From Us

You don’t have to be a Christian long before you encounter periods of intense trials of your faith. You truly believe in a God who is sovereign, all-wise and all-loving; it is just that you cannot reconcile that belief with what you see around you or what is happening to you. In times like these, Habakkuk has an important lesson to teach us – “the righteous will live by his faith” (Hab 2:4). Continuing to trust God for things you do not understand, but obeying Him in what He clearly commands – this is the definition of faithful living. Perplexed, Puzzled, Perturbed draws out some important lessons for us in this matter.

In the New Testament, one would struggle to find a more bewildering trial for believers than what happened on the morning that Christ rose from the dead. The Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ pieces together the different Gospel accounts to present a chronology of events that morning, when intense grief was turned into exuberant joy as Jesus appeared to His followers one by one.

In trying times, one of the best courses of action is to return staunchly to the basics of Christian living – Bible reading and prayer. These basic disciplines are essential for keeping the Christian close to Christ. Daily Bible Reading Plan describes one good way for us to grasp the “big-picture” of God’s Word, while Why in the World are Our Prayers Even Heard? reminds us that our God is far more keen to answer our prayers than we are desirous to pray.

But sometimes perplexity is good. If you do not believe in the existence of God, you will be perplexed about many things in life. Positions about God explainssimply but clearly why it is illogical and unreasonable to think that there is no God. Two testimonies, Saved by the Grace of God and Seek First the Kingdom of God tell the true stories of two men who struggled with the frustrations and vexations caused by sin, until they surrendered their lives at the foot of the cross.
Have an enjoyable and profitable read!
