A Line From Us

Pastor Huang Ee Yuen, long-time advisor to the Fishers Crew, was called home to glory in the early hours of Monday, 7 February 2011, after nearly five decades of ministry at The ‘Fisherman of Christ’ Fellowship. The goodness and mercy of the Lord pursued him all the days of his life, and has finally overtaken him, and brought him into the presence of His beloved Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
From the earliest issues of Fishers printed in-house and circulated internally to members of the church, to its present circulation of 14,500 to readers all over South-East Asia and the world, Pastor Huang tirelessly directed and energized successive generations of Fishers Crews in this ministry. Only in eternity will we know what kind of spiritual fruit the Lord has been pleased to bring about through the 1.2 million copies of Fishers produced.

His was a life given to Gospel-ministry. Whether in public gospel meetings or private evangelistic opportunities; within church buildings or without; in Singapore or overseas; Pastor Huang gave himself to the advancement of the Kingdom of God. Even when he was cared for in a nursing home, he brought gospel encouragement to many visitors and care-givers. Indeed, he testified to the truth of 2 Corinthians 4:16, “Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day.” Mama, When You Grow A Little Older is a little meditation on the glorious riches of growing old in Christ. The blessing Pastor Huang experienced in his golden years is not unique, it can be yours too.

In God’s grand master plan of world events, there will come a day when we, too, will each appear before Him. Your day must come also. Will You Meet Your Deadline? invites you to seriously consider whether you are ready to give an account of your life to God your Creator. The testimony, How God Rescued Me from Darkness, tells us God’s grace in the life of one believer, preparing her for this day of reckoning so that she can face it without fear.

The Fishers Crew is firmly committed to continuing this Gospel-ministry, for as long as the Lord grants us opportunity. The modern parable This is the Day of Good News, But We are Keeping Silent awakens us to the fact that the glory of the Gospel makes many believers’ failure to proclaim Christ unconscionable. Evangelism is what the Church has been called to do, alongside the worship of God and the edification of the saints. The Church of Jesus Christ discusses these mandates of the local church, which exists only as part of Christ’s universal Church.
