A Line From Us

Psalm 91 is indeed a comforting reminder to those of us who are God's children. God is a shelter and a refuge when we are afraid. The writer's faith in the Almighty God as Protector would carry him through the dangers and fears of life. This should be a picture of our trust - trading our fears for faith in Him.

The article entitled 'God’s Deliverance' reminds us of God's assurance in Psalm 91:14-16 to those who "know My name". It describes for us the kind of person who dwells in the secret place of the Most High. Are you counted among those who truly "know My name"?

We are living in a world of great uncertainty. The events of recent years - 9/11 and the December 2004 tsunami, just to name two - must surely be still fresh in our minds. Indeed, some of us may even be carrying scars of these and other catastrophes in our lives.

In his article 'Numbering our Days', Pastor Huang shares his own lessons from Psalm 90:12 "So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." and from I Thessalonians 5:1-2. He poses the question, "What if the Lord is coming back today?". The article reminded me of a song I heard many years ago, the title I remember vaguely as "If Jesus were to come and spend some time with you". In the song, listeners are asked if they will be ashamed and if there are things they will need to change in their lives and at home before they are ready to receive Him into their homes. The article also extols us to number our days and to be ready to leave this world at any moment.

I hope that these and other articles in this issue will spur each one of us to do His will and strengthen our resolve to live a life pleasing to Him.
