Are You Dead Yet?

Good News

The teenager shouted at the street preacher: "You talk about the weight of sin! I don't feel it. How much does sin weigh - 10, 80, 100 pounds?"

The preacher responded: "If you laid a 100-pound weight on a dead man's chest, would he feel it?"

"Of course not. He's dead," answered the youth.

"And so is the person who doesn't feel his weight of sin. He’s spiritually dead," said the preacher. "The Bible, God's Word to us, says that all are dead in trespasses and sins (Eph. 2:1 NKJV). If you don't feel the weight of your sins, you should be alarmed - you're spiritually dead."

Picture a very sick man suffering intense pain. Suddenly the pain stops. He says he'll soon be well. But the doctor knows better. He feels no pain because mortification has set in. He's dead to feeling pain, and soon will be dead - period!

Is this a picture of you, spiritually? If you don't feel any concern about your sin, your guilt, or where you'll spend eternity, wake up before it's too late! You need help, and you need it now!

Maybe you already know you're a sinner who'll eventually be judged by God. If so, you'll be glad to know that God knows your need and has already provided a Saviour in His Son, Jesus Christ. Listen to these life saving words: But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Rom. 5:8).

The bad news is that our sins will be judged. But the good news is that Jesus Christ has already suffered that judgment when He died for our sins. Want to benefit from His death for your sins? Ask Him to be your Saviour.
